Despina_Saparilla Despina Saparilla
Despina is the Project Manager of the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Centre (CaSToRC) at the Cyprus Institute. She holds a PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and has ten years experience in industry working as a software and network engineer at Cisco Systems and network operators in Cyprus.


Michael_Frank Michael Frank
Michael Frank received his MEng in computer science from the university of Bristol in 2009. His Masters project involved developing an efficient algorithm for simulating quantum computations by contracting tensor networks. He is currently a research associate with the Computational-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC) of the Cyprus Institute. His research interests are quantum computation and quantum information theory.

Christos_Nicolaou

Christos Nicolaou
Christos is the Scientific Coordinator for LinkSCEEM-2, responsible -among others- for coordinating user networking and training activities and implementing the allocation of computational resources. He is also the CaSToRC representative for training activities for the PRACE-1IP project. Christos is a Computer Scientist by training, holding a PhD from the University of Cyprus, MSc and BSc from Florida State University, with substantial industrial experience in developing research informatics applications.

 
 
 
fotis_georgatos Fotis Georgatos
Fotis Georgatos holds a degree in Computer Engineering, with applied specialization in Systems. Next to regular systems administration work, he has contributed during EGEE projects undertaking the role of assisting others in grid technologies and gave numerous technical trainings. Currently, Fotis functions as Computational Science Support Specialist for CaSToRC.

Manisha Laloo Manisha Lalloo
Hailing from a chemistry background, Manisha now puts her science communication skills to good use in the world of grid computing. She joined the GridTalk and e-ScienceTalk teams following a stint in Brussels, helping the European Parliament promote their many events. Manisha also works as a freelance chemistry writer and in her spare time likes to dance
